Basketball Recap: Kimball Longhorns vs. Morrill Lions
After flying high against Hemingford last Wednesday, Kimball came back down to earth. The Kimball Longhorns took a 50-35 bruising from the Morrill Lions on Thursday. The Longhorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 41-39.
Kimball's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Bohac, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Bohac has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaleigh Bohac, who earned ten points and six boards.
Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Morrill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
Kimball does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morrill, they will take on Elm Creek at 8:00 p.m. on February 28th. Elm Creek will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Morrill surely won't give up without a fight.
