Softball Recap: Woodland Park Takes a Loss

Woodland Park's last matchup with Sand Creek could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Panthers came up short against the Scorpions, falling 12-3.

Christine Renteria made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler DiFabio, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Woodland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Sand Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland Park will face off against Canon City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sand Creek, they will head out to face off against Mitchell at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
