Volleyball Preview: Fairview Knights vs. Legacy Lightning
Fairview has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. After both having extra time off, they and the Legacy Lightning will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Fairview beat Boulder 3-1.
Fairview was staring down a 1-0 deficit headed into the second set, but they rallied to take the next three for the win. After all that action, the final score was 23-25, 25-15, 25-20, 17-15.
Meanwhile, Legacy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Raptors 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-11.
Legacy can attribute much of their success to Emma Gray, who had seven digs and three aces, and Jaylen Javorek, who had 13 digs. Gray is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 11 or more in the last six games she's played.
Legacy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in six consecutive matchups.
Fairview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
