Volleyball Recap: Gainesville Falls Despite Big Games from Addyson Hauptman and Charlotte Judge

If Gainesville was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Williston on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hurricanes fell 3-1 to the Trinity Catholic Celtics on Monday. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Celtics apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 25-11.

Charlotte Judge and Addyson Hauptman certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Judge had 21 assists and two aces, while Hauptman had 12 digs and one assist. Judge has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

Gainesville now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Trinity Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gainesville will challenge The Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Catholic, they will face off against Mater Dei at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
