Football Recap: Cody-Kilgore Skates Past Santee with Ease

There's no place like home for Cody-Kilgore, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 82-6 win over the Santee Warriors. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-6.

Kaden McNare had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Tripp Hill was another key rusher, rushing for 55 yards and one TD.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cody-Kilgore proved: they limited Santee to a paltry -0.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Knox Wobig for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cody-Kilgore didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 18.5.

Cody-Kilgore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Teagen Fish and Wobig. Fish got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Cody-Kilgore's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Santee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Cody-Kilgore and Santee will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cowboys/Cowgirls see the field they'll take on Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Santee, their break will end when they face Stuart on the 26th.
