Basketball Recap: Collinwood Comes Up Short

If Collinwood was feeling good fresh off their 59-31 takedown of Bard Early College last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Collinwood Railroaders were dealt a 64-26 loss at the hands of the GlenOak Golden Eagles on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 140th).

Collinwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-6. As for GlenOak, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinwood will face off against Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for GlenOak, they will challenge Jackson at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something GlenOak surely won't give up without a fight.
