            Softball Preview: Souhegan Sabers vs. Oyster River Bobcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Souhegan Sabers are taking a road trip to  square off against the Oyster River Bobcats  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
Souhegan came up short against  Trinity on Thursday, falling  13-6. That's two games in a row now that the Sabers have lost by  exactly seven  runs.
  Isabelle Brandt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.  Grace Harrold was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Oyster River got the win against Kingswood  on Friday by a conclusive  18-5.
Oyster River got a  massive  performance out of  Kate Michaud, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Laura Boughton, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and four  RBI.
 Oyster River was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingswood only posted a  batting average of  .222.
 Oyster River's win was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 1-0-1. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Souhegan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Souhegan suffered a grim  14-2 defeat to Oyster River  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024. Can the Sabers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
