Volleyball Recap: Estrella Foothills Comes Up Short

If Estrella Foothills was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bradshaw Mountain last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves fell just short of the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Estrella Foothills couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Ironwood Ridge a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 30-28, 19-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Sadie Snyder paced Estrella Foothills' offense, picking up 22 kills. Snyder got some help from Lily Merefield and her 28 assists. Snyder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Estrella Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Ironwood Ridge, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills will take on ALA - Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ironwood Ridge, they will welcome Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
