Softball Game Preview: Glades Day Gators vs. Lake Worth Trojans

The Glades Day Gators will face off against the Lake Worth Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Glades Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

Glades Day took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Glades Central with a sharp 15-5 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gators considering their one-run performance the game before.

Kristabella Flournah made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Flournah was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Glades Day got a massive performance out of Kaley Deaton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Deaton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Poole, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Glades Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glades Central only posted an OBP of .333.

Meanwhile, Lake Worth was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Glades Central, falling 19-9.

Lake Worth's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Glades Day, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything went Glades Day's way against Lake Worth in their previous matchup back in March, as Glades Day made off with a 31-17 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
