Volleyball Recap: Damien Comes Up Short

Damien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Chino Hills Huskies, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Damien was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-10, 25-21.

Leading Chino Hills to victory were Sean Spicer and Daniel Barker. Spicer had 14 kills and three digs, while Barker had 11 digs and two aces. Spicer is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Sabbara, who had 19 assists and one block.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Chino Hills, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Coming up, Damien will host Etiwanda at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chino Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Chino at 4:45 p.m.
