Basketball Recap: Maypearl Drops Highest Score of Season Against Blooming Grove

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maypearl). They walked away with a 71-60 win over the Blooming Grove Lions on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.

Blooming Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Stout, who posted nine points. What's more, he also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braydon Reed, who scored eight points and nine rebounds.

Maypearl's win bumped their record up to 7-25. As for Blooming Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Scurry-Rosser the next time they take the court. Maypearl will head out to face Scurry-Rosser at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Blooming Grove will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
