Recap: Royal Palm Beach Wildcats vs. King's Academy Lions
After a string of four wins, the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 80-70 to King's Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Royal Palm Beach has scored all season.
Royal Palm Beach's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fenley Clerfond, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Clerfond continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Edward Wood, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Royal Palm Beach's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for King's Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach will face off against Palm Beach Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Palm Beach Central is ranked 261st, while Royal Palm Beach is ranked 272nd). As for King's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Boynton Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Boynton Beach comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
