Softball Recap: Centennial Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Centennial dropped their record down to 9-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 6-2 to the White Bear Lake Bears. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for White Bear Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For White Bear Lake's part, Lilly Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Martin has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, White Bear Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Elias, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Coming up, Centennial is taking a road trip to challenge Forest Lake at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for White Bear Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tartan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
