Softball Recap: Bergen Tech Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

Bergen Tech never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Kennedy as they made off with a 15-0 win. Bergen Tech's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Julia Thompson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thompson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bergen Tech got a massive performance out of Sophia Tripodi, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Tripodi a new career-high. Jenny Xu was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Bergen Tech back to even at 2-2. As for Kennedy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Bergen Tech will be playing at home against Payne Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Kennedy, they will venture away from home to challenge Bergen Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
