Football Recap: Notre Dame Prep Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Notre Dame Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Avon Falcons to the tune of 37-0 on Friday. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah James, who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. Another back making a difference was Ja'Cari Harris, who rushed for 106 yards on only nine carries.

Notre Dame Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Razor and Jayse Edmondson.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Joel Barlow at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Lancers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Avon, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Wethersfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
