The ITW David Speer Academy Pride made easy work of the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks on Monday and carried off a 13-2 victory. Considering the Pride have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Marco Ortiz looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Santiago Lopez was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for ITW David Speer Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Jeanderso Balza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

ITW David Speer Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

ITW David Speer Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Steinmetz College Prep, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-20.

Looking ahead, ITW David Speer Academy will head out on the road to face off against Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they will face off against Disney II at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.35 runs per game on average), something the Silver Streaks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
