Softball Game Preview: Bloomington Central Catholic Saints vs. Dunlap Eagles

The Bloomington Central Catholic Saints will take on the Dunlap Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Bloomington Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Marquette and fell 5-4. The Saints have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Dunlap faced Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-1. Five seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On the hitting side, Dunlap's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Mies, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs Mies has posted over her last 12 matchups.

Dunlap hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Bloomington Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Dunlap, they have been performing well recently as they've won 20 of their last 24 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.
