Basketball Recap: Pine Eagle Takes a Loss

Pine Eagle lost against Union back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pine Eagle Spartans were outmatched by the Union Bobcats and fell 62-27. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Bobcats are ranked 12th).

Pine Eagle has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Union, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Eagle will challenge Wallowa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union, they will venture away from home to challenge Powder Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
