Baseball Recap: Oak Lawn Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Oak Lawn was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downers Grove North Trojans.

Oak Lawn got a good showing from Hamza Abdelfattah, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Abdelfattah a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Oak Lawn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Manny Rangel, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Oak Lawn's loss dropped their record down to 22-13. As for Downers Grove North, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-7.

Coming up, Oak Lawn will face off against Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Downers Grove North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
