Baseball Game Preview: Valle Catholic Warriors vs. Notre Dame Bulldogs

The Valle Catholic Warriors will square off against the Notre Dame Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Valle Catholic has three straight wins, Notre Dame has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Valle Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Kingston a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame fell victim to Poplar Bluff and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mules by a score of 1-0.

Valle Catholic's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1.

Valle Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 9-4. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
