Volleyball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Elkhart and Warsaw squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Elkhart had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ava Polack paced Elkhart's offense, picking up nine kills. Polack really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 11. Finally, Bayle Mitchell kept Elkhart's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Warsaw was led to victory by Ellie Hepler and Olivia Rooney. Hepler had 17 digs and four assists, while Rooney had seven digs and four aces. Hepler has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Warsaw, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 29-4.

Elkhart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Warsaw, after both having extra time off, they and Penn will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
