Baseball Recap: Cheney Tech Wins Going Away Against Windham RVT

Cheney Tech lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Windham RVT, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over the Mighty Tigers on Monday. Considering the Chargers have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cheney Tech got a massive performance out of Ben Milvae, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Chargers are undefeated when Milvae posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Andrew Alexander also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Cheney Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Cheney Tech now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Windham RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney Tech will head out to take on Wolcott RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Windham RVT, they will square off against Wilcox RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
