Basketball Recap: Martin County Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Martin County Gators came up short against the Currituck County Knights and fell 48-40.

It was another big night for Savannah Banks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 boards for Currituck County. Banks' afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Arianna White, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Martin County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Currituck County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martin County has already played their next contest (against Gates County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Currituck County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Holmes.
