Baseball Recap: Wayne Drops Highest Score of Season Against Greenville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They blew past the Greenville Green Wave 10-0 on Friday. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024 (when they won 15-1).

Peyton Tengesdahl made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wayne is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-15 otherwise. Tengesdahl was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xavier Hargrave, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wayne's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Greenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne will venture away from home to challenge Bellbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenville, they will take on Franklin in a tournament on Wednesday.
