Softball Game Preview: Sherwood Bowmen vs. North Medford Black Tornado

The Sherwood Bowmen will take on the North Medford Black Tornado at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Sherwood got the win against Bend by a conclusive 9-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bowmen.

Destiny Cornwell looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sherwood let McKenna Parmalee and Daisha Cornwell run wild. Parmalee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI, while Cornwell went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Penny Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sherwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, North Medford made easy work of Willamette on Friday and carried off an 11-5 victory.

North Medford's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Sherwood, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
