After a string of nine wins, Cox's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Kempsville Chiefs by a score of 3-2. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chiefs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Cox actually scored more points across those five sets (103-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 19-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Cox lost, don't look at June Culicerto. Despite the final result, she had 18 digs and five aces. With that strong performance, Culicerto is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Cox's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Kempsville, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 11-5.

Cox didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Landstown on the 9th. As for Kempsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Salem on the 9th.
