Basketball Recap: Vanessa Reyes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Telluride + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nucla, Vail Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 36-24 win over the Telluride Miners. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vail Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vanessa Reyes, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 13 points gave Reyes a new career-high. Susie Irving was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Vail Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win got Vail Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Telluride, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vail Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crested Butte at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Telluride, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Caprock Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
