Recap: Taft Raiders vs. Holmes Huskies

The Taft Raiders had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Holmes at home to the tune of 36-6. The result was nothing new for Taft, who have now won four matches by 28 points or more so far this season.

Taft's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Stevens and 1-7 Holmes (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.7% over those games). As for Holmes, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Taft will head out on the road to face off against Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jay is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Holmes, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Brennan at 2:00 p.m. One thing working in Brennan's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games.
