Basketball Recap: Kyle Lowery's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grand Terrace over Norte Vista

Grand Terrace and Norte Vista squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Grand Terrace had to settle for second. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norte Vista Braves. The Titans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Lowery, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points. Those 21 points gave Lowery a new career-high. Deisyn Payne was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 18 points and seven boards.

Norte Vista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hugo Morales, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 19 rebounds. Morales is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Fulton, who posted 25 points and six boards.

Grand Terrace's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Norte Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Grand Terrace does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norte Vista, they will square off against Silverado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Silverado sitting on eight straight victories and Norte Vista on 12.
