Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Model Secondary School for the Deaf can now relate to. They were beaten by the Berman Hebrew Academy Cougars 64-23 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Model Secondary School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Johan Hewapathirana posted nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berman Hebrew Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Teitelbaum, who went 5-for-7 en route to 10 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Ariel Hasan was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Berman Hebrew Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-5.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berman Hebrew Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 64-46 victory against St. Anselm's Abbey on the 19th.
