Soccer Game Preview: Calabasas vs. Thousand Oaks

The Calabasas Coyotes are taking a road trip to challenge the Thousand Oaks Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calabasas' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Calabasas managed to keep up with Westlake until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Calabasas lost 5-1 to Westlake. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Warriors are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Thousand Oaks was not quite Oaks Christian's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. It was the first time this season that the Lancers let down their fans at home.

Calabasas' loss dropped their record down to 5-4-7. As for Thousand Oaks, they now have a losing record at 5-6-2.
