Baseball Recap: Savoy Comes Up Short

Savoy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-12 to the Ector Eagles. Even if the Cardinals couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Savoy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ector, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Savoy Cardinals face off against Whitewright Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitewright is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Ector, they will head out on the road to take on Honey Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ector has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
