The Kenedy Lions will square off against the Crawford Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kenedy comes in on five and Crawford on seven.

Kenedy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Santa Maria to the tune of 34-6. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

David Salas and Karsen Reyes were among the main playmakers for Kenedy as the former rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 81 yards and one score. Reyes showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards. Another big playmaker for Kenedy was Isiah Morin, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kenedy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 440 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Kenedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dehlay Salas and David Cantu. Cantu has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Kenedy got some further help from Nick McPherson: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Crawford got the win against Johnson City on Friday by a conclusive 29-7. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.

Kenedy's record is now 9-2. As for Crawford, their record now sits at 10-1.
