Dedham hasn't had much luck against Ashland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Marauders will square off against the Clockers at 4:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, Dedham came up short against Hopkinton and fell 5-1.
Jack Haven was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since back in April.
At the plate, Dedham saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Dowling, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.
Ashland hadn't beaten Holliston on the road since May 18, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Clockers blew past the Panthers 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Clockers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jared Grunbaum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Grunbaum was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Oliver Lareau was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jake Lemay, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Ashland's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dedham, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Dedham suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Ashland in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
