Baseball Recap: River Islands Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for River Islands's offense. They came up short against the Turlock Christian Eagles on Monday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Riptide's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

River Islands moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Turlock Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Islands will take on Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Riptide are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Turlock Christian, they will square off against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
