Softball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 18-7 to the Essex Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 on Monday.

Aleja Hayes was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Essex, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Franklin will square off against Northampton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Essex, they will face off against Northumberland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Indians have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
