Basketball Recap: Lisbon Central Golden Knights vs. Moriah Vikings
Lisbon Central and Moriah squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lisbon Central had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Moriah Vikings by a score of 46-44. The Golden Knights have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moriah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Allen, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Allen's big performance that evening made it 30 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Joe Pelkey was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
Lisbon Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1. As for Moriah, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Lisbon Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moriah, they will square off against Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Berne-Knox-Westerlo comes in on 23 and Moriah on four.
