Softball Recap: Orange Beach Drops Season-High Score on T.R. Miller

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orange Beach). They blew past the T.R. Miller Tigers 18-1 on Thursday. The Makos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 29 contests by six runs or more this season.

Katie King and Ava Hodo did most of the damage at the plate: King went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Hodo fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs Hodo has posted since back in March of 2024. Jayde Palmer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Orange Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Orange Beach's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 38-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for T.R. Miller, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-17-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Orange Beach nor T.R. Miller have any future games scheduled.
