Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends San Marino's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, San Marino's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Maranatha Minutemen. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Minutemen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, San Marino saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ariminty Yu had 14 digs and three aces. Yu has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 39 times she's played.

San Marino's loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for Maranatha, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, San Marino will square off against Village Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maranatha, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on the 23rd.
