Basketball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric Takes a Loss

Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors 91-34. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-18.

Despite the loss, Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric still got an impressive performance from Gabe Gerth, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Reed Vanderhill, who scored nine points.

Trinity Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Nutt out in front who dropped a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. Nutt has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rolen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric will square off against Faustina Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grayson Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
