Volleyball Game Preview: Holy Names Academy vs. Lakeside Lions

Holy Names Academy are taking a road trip to challenge the Lakeside Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Holy Names Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Eastside Catholic and fell 3-2. Holy Names Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Lakeside entered their matchup against Bishop Blanchet on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lions fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 10, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Lakeside wouldn't go down easily and took Bishop Blanchet into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 25-12, 15-13.

Holy Names Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lakeside, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 8-3.

Holy Names Academy took their victory against Lakeside when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holy Names Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
