 Doral Academy came tearing into  Thursday's  matchup with 11 straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the American Heritage Patriots  and snuck past  7-6. That's more bragging rights for Doral Academy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Michael Torres made a splash no matter where he played. He  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). Torres has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  hit in three consecutive pitching appearances. Torres was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Gabriel Milano was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 On American Heritage's side, they got a good showing from  Antonio Turco-Rivas, who   tossed 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run or  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Lucas Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  RJ Machado, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Doral Academy pushed their record up to 20-1 with that  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.8 runs per game. As for American Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doral Academy will take on Trinity Christian Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for American Heritage, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Cardinal Newman at 7:00  p.m.
