Baseball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Travelers Rest Devildogs

Daniel is a perfect 4-0 against Travelers Rest since February of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Devildogs at 6:30 p.m. Daniel will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Daniel's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Berea with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lee Turnipseed was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Simpson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Daniel hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berea struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Travelers Rest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Pendleton 9-7. The Devildogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Travelers Rest's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Daniel, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Daniel took their victory against Travelers Rest when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Devildogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
