Baseball Recap: Douglas County Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Douglas County won against Legend on Wednesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Huskies beat the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Dylan Langstaff tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Douglas County is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 4-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Spensor Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Douglas County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Mountain Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.
