Baseball Recap: San Marino Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for San Marino's offense. They fell just short of the La Canada Spartans by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

San Marino saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Bercaw, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Bercaw has posted since back in April of 2024.

With the defeat, San Marino broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for La Canada, they pushed their record up to 4-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, San Marino will host Village Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Marino's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Village Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for La Canada, they will venture away from home to challenge Temple City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
