Football Recap: New Diana Piles Up the Points Against Winona

New Diana had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-14 victory over the Winona Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Winona lost, don't look at Easton Smotherman. Despite the final result, he threw for 262 yards and two TDs on only 18 passes.

New Diana now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Winona, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, New Diana and Winona will both be playing West Rusk the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
