Portland Christian and Whitefield Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles will take on the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Portland Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Whitefield Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Portland Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Shawnee on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Golden Eagles a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by 17 runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Whitefield Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Bullitt East, falling 8-1.

Braden Schwartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Whitefield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Portland Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Portland Christian suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Whitefield Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
