Football Recap: Wakulla War Eagles vs. Leon Lions
Wakulla had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Leon Lions 37-20 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the War Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Owen Klees had a dynamite game, throwing for 276 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Wakulla also got a significant boost from Jeremiah Washington, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 161 yards.

Wakulla received some extra help from Andrew Nelson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Coming up, Wakulla will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Taylor County at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Leon, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
