Softball Recap: Vicksburg Comes Up Short

Vicksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 11-8 to the Yazoo County Panthers. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Lili Kistler was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Makynzie Dunmore, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Yazoo County, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vicksburg will square off against Loyd Star at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yazoo County, they will challenge Riverside at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
