Basketball Game Preview: Shenandoah Zeps vs. Caldwell Redskins

Shenandoah has gone 8-2 against Caldwell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Zeps will be playing at home against the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Shenandoah sitting on three straight victories and Caldwell on four.

Shenandoah will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Monroe Central, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Zeps walked away with a 51-39 win over the Seminoles on Wednesday.

Among those leading the charge was Brenna Leach, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophy McVicker, who put up six points and nine rebounds.

Shenandoah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Caldwell hadn't done well against River recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Redskins put the hurt on the Pilots with a sharp 46-22 victory. The Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season.

Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Shenandoah, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Shenandoah was able to grind out a solid win over Caldwell in their previous meeting back in January, winning 54-47. Will the Zeps repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
